I am really sorry to inform all ex-colleagues and friends that Lawrence has passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010. I was given the assignment to write a funeral oration in Chinese for his funeral. With the help from Andrew and other colleagues, I have finalised the oration as follows. I am pleased to know that it will be included in the funeral program (Please click here).
祭文
暮春之初，歲在庚寅。受難翌日，驀然星隕。
哲人其萎，何處招魂。遙想當年，初遇使君。
英偉挺拔，文質彬彬。共事多年，友誼漸深。
并肩作戰，苦樂均分。夙夜匪懈，律己克勤。
睿敏寡言，言則中肯。克己待人，至誠至真。
謙謙君子，沉靜斯文。虛懷若谷，城府湛深。
賢妻仰望，相敬如賓。兒女秉承，乃父精神。
身罹惡疾，無怨無嗔。坦然面對，不減歡欣。
見證神跡，播愛世人。堅信我主，榮沐聖恩。
今歸故土，陰陽兩分。蒙主寵待，幸得永生。
啤王風采，欲覓無憑。義膽仁風，永誌於心。
往事歷歷，緬懷前塵。與君永別，傷痛何堪。

白話譯文
今年四月復活節翌日，傳來了我們的老同事、好朋友逝世的消息，這個世界少了一個難得的好人。
想起當年剛剛認識龍君的時候，覺得他是個外表俊朗恍如玉樹臨風的美男子。做了多年的同事，我們的友誼不斷增進。我們在工作上的緊密合作，分擔了奮鬥的艱辛，也分享了成功的快樂。我也因此對他有更深入的了解。他對工作充滿熱誠，不分日夜地勤奮努力，務求盡善盡美。
他聰明睿智，說話不多，但一開口必然言中有物。他對自己的要求很高，對朋友忠誠和信守諾言，他雖然滿腹珠璣，但卻深藏不露。真是一個冷靜文雅、謙虛的君子。
他有一個敬愛他，對他完全信任的賢內助，兒女也視他為待人接物的模範。
當年他患了癌症，但他並沒有怨天尤地，坦然接受了命運的安排，照樣快樂地生活。同時以他自己在信奉了耶穌後的恩典經驗，與親友們分享。他的虔誠信仰使他的生命得到安慰。今天他回到了主的懷抱，我們要和他永別了。想起了他生前打撲克時的談笑用兵，今後再也不能重睹他的風采了。我們會永遠記得他對朋友忠誠重諾的作風。往日的情景歷歷在目，想起了和他生前的友誼，哀傷得使我忍不住灑下熱淚。但願他永在主懷安息。

Frank, Christine and I are so sad to hear of Lawrence’s passing away 4 days ago. We don’t know Anna’s address so could you please give her our love and condolences. It was really wonderful to see them in 2006. Lawrence was a grand workmate as well as good friend; and we all had a lot of fun as well as a bit of hard work together, didn’t we!
